Sony has recently launched a consumer grade camcorder which is able to reproduce four times more details in comparison with most high definition cameras that are available on the market.
The new Handycam FDR AX1 can record movies using the fairly new 4k Ultra HD standard. It is true that 3D television didn’t catch up, but since more and more 4k TV sets are sold, this camera will surely find its market. If you’ve been disconnected from the IT industry during the last few years, you may not know that a 4k image has a 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution, storing four times more details in comparison with the actual full HD images. For high end photographers and videographers, this means more details and, as a consequence, much better images. The price is fairly decent at a 4,000 USD and I am pretty sure that it will become lower as the competition catches up.
Here’s an actual recording made with the Handycam FDR AX1. Don’t forget to choose the 2,160p resolution. And for best results, use a 4K monitor. I’ll have to admit that I don’t own one yet, but even my good old full HD Samsung monitor can make sense of the high quality movie.
Nissan has created a watch which uses the Bluetooth standard and is capable of monitoring the entire range of Nismo cars and their drivers. From what I know, it’s Nissan’s first attempt to creating wearable technology. The watch will not only monitor the car, but also the driver’s heart rate, among other things.
Nismo is Nissan’s in-house tuning and motorsports division.
A new NASA lunar mission has been recently launched, with the goal of creating an outer space Internet, which should provide faster download speeds, helping us receive space data much faster. Outer space cameras have captured a lot of data, especially images from Mars, but due to the low connection speeds, they are unable to send them fast enough to the Earth. With the new system, more data will be sent in less time.
More news from NASA: NuSTAR is a special spacecraft that can detect black holes. It has managed to detect 10 supermassive black holes so far. Most scientists think that this is just the beginning of a long series of similar discoveries. The ten black holes that NASA has discovered are called gargantuan structures. These structures are surrounded by thick gas layers. The telescope that has discovered the black holes was launched in 2012, with the goal of helping the astronomers understand the mysteries behind the black holes.
